The Matching Law

This video is about the Matching Law and how it affects us and our dogs’ decisions. The Matching law is related to the rate of reinforcement, the quality of the reinforcers and the reinforcement delay. It states that these variables are considered when two different behaviours are available. For people with dogs and puppies the Matching Law can be extremely important when a certain behaviour perceived as fully trained is not occurring on cue. Perhaps there are competing reinforcers in the environment that are stronger than the perceived reinforcement value of the cued behaviour.
