We recently built a full gaming setup from Five Below, so this time we went “high class” and tried to build a legit gaming setup at Target… which is funny, because when you think Target, you don’t exactly think gaming. We walked in with low expectations (honestly maybe even lower than Five Below), and the goal was simple: grab the essentials you’d need to game the same day—monitor, keyboard/mouse, desk, chair, and some kind of headset—plus a few goofy extras because that’s just how these field trips go. What surprised me is Target actually had a hidden little gaming section we almost missed, and that changed everything. We ended up with a Room Essentials RGB gaming desk and matching chair, an Acer 32-inch 1080p high refresh monitor, and some real-name peripherals like HyperX and a Razer Cobra. Not everything was a win though: the desk’s included mouse pad was genuinely awful, and the cheap wireless mouse was… questionable in actual FPS play. The big takeaway: you can build a functional setup at Target, but you’re paying convenience tax, and you still need to be picky if you care about value.
