MaxAroma is always putting me on to fragrance houses I haven’t tried, and this time I finally got to explore The Merchant of Venice. In this video I’m doing true first impressions, talking through the brand’s Venice-inspired storytelling (trade routes, exotic materials, spices), and of course giving you my real thoughts—good or bad—on four scents: Divine Rose, Pearl Bouquet, Eternal Sunrise (their newest release), and Vinegia 21. I also share my lipstick of the day (MAC Pop Star Pink) and my fragrance of the day (House of Dastan Unseen), plus I point you to my links and code in the description. Scent-wise, I quickly noticed a theme: this house loves a spicy opening—cinnamon, saffron, clove—so if you’re into warm, exotic blends, pay attention. Divine Rose was love at first sniff for me: juicy plum and rose first, then the spices and oud, and it’s giving date night/“sexy fatal” energy. Pearl Bouquet goes heavier on spice with clove and patchouli, but the nutmeg and praline add a gourmand touch that makes it a strong like. Eternal Sunrise is resinous, balsamic, incensey and smoky on my skin—different and intriguing, and it’s going to challenge me in a good way. Vinegia 21 felt like the most well-rounded and easiest reach: smooth, silky, still punchy, with a slight sweetness from praline and vanilla alongside incense and myrrh.
