Hulu Base Subscription Plans and Billing - Is Hulu Ad Supported or Ad Free Better Save Money on YouTube TV! New Members GET $10 OFF YOUTUBE TV BASE PLAN! Click here for details and sign up: https://tv.youtube.com/referral/r257rjwr3bizy6 Hulu is just one of the many streaming services available today. And you might be asking yourself which plan is better? When you sign up, you can choose between 2 base plan options. One has ads and the other is ad free. Which one is better depends on your budget and whether you want your programming to be interrupted by commercials. In my experience, the commercials can get very annoying and really take away my enjoyment of watching Hulu. I have the ad supported plan and while I was bingeing The Handmaid's Tale, it just seemed like there were so many commercial breaks. A lot of them are a minute and a half long! Plus I wasn't able to skip these ads. It's been really annoying lately with all the advertisements that come up. Then I ran into a frustrating situation because when I signed up, I thought I would be able to switch between plans and cancel at any time. Now that's true if I had one of the monthly plans. But beware of the annual ad supported subscription. It's enticing because it saves money and when you're new to Hulu, you think to yourself how bad can ads be? Well I've had Hulu for just under 2 months and I just can't stand the ads. Also, I ran into a problem when I signed up for one year of the ad supported plan. It seems Hulu doesn't allow me to upgrade to the no ad plan. On the Hulu support page, it literally says annual subscribers are not able to switch base plans. And if I want to cancel my service, supposedly I won't get a refund because this page also says refunds are not issued when you cancel an annual subscription. But I reached out to customer support via text chat and explained what I wanted to do. And I was surprised they actually refunded part of my money plus they let me change my subscription to the no ad plan for $12.99 a month. So I'm really glad about that! Still, the answer to whether ads or no ads is better is up to you! It depends on how annoyed you get from watching commercials. But when you're on the free trial, you have time to test it out before you make a decision. Unless you're on a tight budget, my recommendation is to sign up for a monthly subscription and completely avoid the annual plan. That way you'll have the ability to switch between ads or no ads every month. Hopefully this gives you some insight before committing to a Hulu subscription plan!
