You're probably already connected to Wifi so take a look at the label on the bottom of the router. Find where it says Advanced Device Configuration. Take note of the router's address which is 192.168.254.254. And below that also find the Device Access Code which is the main admin password of the router itself. This is different than the Wifi password. Now open a web browser and type in the router address. Then hit Enter. I'm now on the router's status page. From here, click where it says Wireless Setup in the Quick Links section. Now I'm taken to the configuration settings for the 2.4GHz WiFi network. Here I can actually change the name of the router to something more memorable or interesting. Of course you can also leave the router name as is. Currently, I can't make any changes to the password because the Security setting is set to WPA-Default Password. To set your own WiFi password, change this setting to WPA-PSK. Now type in a new password and hit Apply. On the next page, hit Continue to save the new settings. Immediately I'm taken to an error page. But there's no need worry about this. Because the Wifi password was changed my computer can't connect anymore. To fix this, open the Wifi settings again. And in the network list, find the name of the router. Now click connect. And then enter the new password. If it looks good so click OK to connect. And almost instantly my computer is connected to Wifi again using the new password. We're almost done. But since this FIOS router also has a 5G network. So back on the wireless configuration webpage I'll click on the 5G settings. And just like before, I'm going to change the name to match the 2.4GHz network while keeping 5G at the end of the name. Set the security setting to WPA-PSK. And for the 5G network, I'm going to use the same password I used earlier. Now hit Apply. Then hit Continue. To make the 5G network active on my computer, I'll go to Wifi settings again. Find the name then click on Connect. And here's where I'll enter the new password I set for this 5G Wifi network. And that's how you change the Wifi password on a Ziply, Frontier and Verizon FIOS router. And here's an important thing to know. You'll have to reconnect all your wireless devices to the router again. So be aware that any devices requiring internet service like computers, TVs, gaming consoles, phones and others will not be online again until they have been reconnected to Wifi using the new password.
