Change Hulu Plan and Refunds - Can't Change Hulu Annual Plan from Ad Supported to Ad Free Save Money on YouTube TV! New Members GET $10 OFF YOUTUBE TV BASE PLAN! Click here for details and sign up: https://tv.youtube.com/referral/r257rjwr3bizy6 If you're thinking about signing up for Hulu, watch this short video so you understand the 2 base plans they offer. With the Ad Supported plan, you can sign up for $6.99 a month or pay $69.99 for a full year in advance. If you go annual, you actually save a bit of money every 12 months which sounds like a good deal. The Ad Free plan only offers one subscription option which is $12.99 a month. But here's the issue I ran into and I hope what I tell you here will help you avoid it. I signed up for the cheaper Ad Supported plan and paid for one year at $69.99. A couple of months later, I realized I couldn't stand the ads. I thought I was going to be able to make changes anytime but I found I couldn't change or upgrade the annual plan at all! I really wanted to switch to Ad Free but on my account page it's not letting me. And here's the important information you need to know about the annual plan. On the Hulu support page there's one important footnote to pay attention to. It says annual subscribers are not able to switch base plans. So it was my mistake for not reading the fine print before signing up for the annual plan. I also thought I could cancel and get a refund for the rest of the year but that's not possible either. Going back to the the Hulu support page, it says refunds are not issued when you cancel an annual subscription. Feeling a little frustrated, I contacted Hulu via text chat and after explaining my situation, they actually refunded part of my money and helped me switch to the no ad plan for $12.99 a month. I'm really glad I got some of my money back and now I'm watching with no ads! After my experience, I highly suggest you sign up for monthly billing. But if you're on a tight budget, the annual Ad Supported plan is actually good if you want access to Hulu and save money. But hopefully you learn from my mistake before deciding on a Hulu subscription.
