Your Board's AI Strategy Might Be Failing

Most AI governance is not governance. It is paperwork pretending to be governance. Many organisations claim to have AI governance, but often it's just paperwork, not true oversight. This video discusses how much of what is called "ai policy and governance" is merely administrative and not effective "artificial intelligence governance." Boards approving AI policies risk making a significant mistake if they don't address the core issues of "ai ethics" and "ai compliance." The real challenge lies in integrating robust "corporate governance" with strong "leadership" to ensure proper "risk management" in AI adoption. 🚀 In this video, I explain why many boards are approving AI policies, risk registers and frameworks without having real control over what AI systems actually do at the point of decision. The issue is not whether your organisation has an AI policy. The issue is whether your board can see, question, stop and account for AI-enabled decisions when they matter. AI adoption is moving fast across UK organisations, but many boards are still under-briefed, under-equipped and too dependent on documents that do not change behaviour. That is a governance gap, and it matters.
