In this video I’m checking out the UGREEN Smart Finder (FineTrack) as a cheap Apple AirTag alternative that still works with Apple’s Find My network. The first thing I noticed is the design—UGREEN built in a key holder/clip/lanyard style mount right into the tag, and it feels sturdy, not flimsy. Battery life is rated around 24 months, and the best part is it’s replaceable, so you’re not tossing the whole tracker when the battery dies. Setup is super easy on iPhone: I just open the Find My app, go to Items, hit the plus icon, and “Add Other Item,” and it pops up fast. Because it’s Find My certified, you’re getting that huge network behind it (billions of Apple devices) which is what really matters for tracking keys, luggage, and everyday stuff. The big trade-off versus a real AirTag is you don’t get Precision Finding—so you’ll see an approximate location and use directions/maps plus the sound to zero in. The speaker is actually really loud, and you still get Lost Mode, left-behind notifications, battery status, and even item sharing with a loved one.
