In this video I’m taking a look at TP-Link’s Omada EAP770, a really cool, feature-packed Wi‑Fi 7 access point that’s aimed at small offices—but honestly, it’s also a killer prosumer upgrade for your home. I love the disc shape and how super thin it is, and ceiling or wall mounting is a great way to “up your game” with Wi‑Fi coverage. Just keep in mind: this is an access point only, not a router. I walk through setup and the local web interface (EAP.net), and I strongly recommend going PoE—especially if you want to take full advantage of the 2.5GbE port (you’ll want a multi‑gig PoE injector). From there I dig into the good stuff: tri-band Wi‑Fi (2.4/5/6GHz), Wi‑Fi 7 features like MLO, plus pro options like client rate limiting, load balancing, airtime fairness, guest networks, captive portal, VLANs, MAC filtering, band steering, and QoS. I also ran speed tests on my network and saw excellent results—up to multi‑gig at close range and very solid speeds even one floor above through a ceiling and wall. Overall, I’m impressed with the speed, range, and the sheer amount of control you get.
