Today I’m checking out a seriously powerful desktop charger from Joyroom: the Podix 140W 5-port GaN charger. This isn’t just another multiport brick—what makes it stand out right away are the two built-in 2.6 ft retractable USB-C cables. For me, that fixes the worst part of desk chargers: either you’ve got a bunch of cables permanently plugged in making a mess, or you can’t find the one cable you need when you’re trying to top up and run out the door. I also really like the colorful front display. You can tap to cycle between total output, per-port output, and the animations, and you can even rotate the whole unit 180° thanks to the magnetic stand—so it’ll work with different desk setups. On the port side, you’ve got a dedicated USB-C port that can push the full 140W (great for power-hungry gear), two USB-A ports that do up to 30W, plus those two retractable USB-C cables rated for up to 100W. In my testing, I saw it ramp fast—around the mid-90W range on a 100W cable, and about 135W when I used the 140W USB-C port—while the display made it super easy to see exactly how the power was being split across devices.
