About This Video

In this little vlog I’m giving you a real glimpse into our life right now in lockdown—just me and the triplets for the day while Oscar goes with his dad to work. With nurseries shut, Oscar is home all the time and it can be so hard to balance giving him the attention he needs while also meeting the babies’ needs, so this was a lovely reset for all of us. I bring you along from nap wake-ups in their floor beds (which have been working so well) to the constant up-and-down the stairs that comes with having triplets in a house with stairs—my knees definitely feel it. We keep the day simple: nappy changes, “today’s toy of choice” (recycling and cardboard boxes—because you really don’t need loads of toys), bottles, and then straight into lunch prep. I share exactly what I made: scrambled egg with broccoli tops and spinach, tomato halves, and an English muffin with lentil and walnut pâté—because these boys genuinely eat me out of house and home. After lunch, I pop them in their bouncers briefly so they can sit up (otherwise they tend to vomit after a big meal), then we head into the playroom where I’ve split the space using our modifiable Pikler as a barrier so Oscar and the babies can each have their own area. Then it’s back to naps—and I’m finally sitting down for a hot drink.
