About This Video

In this video I’m sharing what a typical morning routine looks like in our house with newborn triplets and a toddler. I’m Gemma (The Hidden Gem) and I’ve got Quinn Oscar (nearly 3) and triplet boys Sebastian, Ashton and Hendrix, who were about 8 weeks old when I filmed this. The babies are on a four-hour feeding schedule that was established in the NICU, so I walk you through everything from that first early-morning feed (usually around 3–3:30am when someone starts whimpering or screaming) right through to the lunchtime feed. You’ll see how we manage feeding three babies as a team—my husband and I can’t really “take turns” the way you might with one baby. I’ll feed one baby while my husband feeds the next, we sit them upright for about 20 minutes, and then my husband feeds the third baby while I express. After that, it’s all the practical stuff that keeps the day running: my biggest time-saver is preloading the washing machine the night before and setting it on a timer, and then in the morning it’s bottles, laundry, and resetting for the next 24 hours. I also share how independent play has been a lifesaver for Oscar (lentil scooping and pouring is a big hit), and how giving him “helper jobs” like collecting bottles has helped him adjust so well to the babies.
