The Pilot Vanishing Point Fountain Pen (and it's smaller sibling, the Decimo), can be a bit intimidating because they look and function differently than most other fountain pens due to the fact that they have retractable nibs. To install a cartridge you need to unscrew the two parts of the barrel to access the nib unit, and then remove the converter (if installed), insert a fresh cartridge, and install the cartridge cap.
