(Test 1 of 4) In this informative video, we review research conducted by FM in collaboration with the Property Insurance Research Group and the National Fire Protection Association's Fire Protection Research Foundation. Join us as we evaluate the fire hazards posed by lithium-ion battery-based energy storage systems (ESS), specifically those utilizing lithium iron phosphate (LFP) batteries. This study, conducted at our FM Research Campus, analyzes an ESS with an overall electrical capacity of 83 kWh, with all batteries maintained at a high state-of-charge of ≥ 95%. Please note that the findings may not be representative of all LFP-based systems.
