PADI’s Latest Dive Industry Policy: Have PADI got it RIGHT?

In late 2023, some PADI dive centers across Asia, the Middle East, and Africa received crucial updates regarding changes in PADI’s approach to multi-agency dive centers. By streamlining operations, PADI aims to become a leaner, more efficient organization. However, implementing this policy globally poses challenges. In markets like the US, Canada, and much of Europe, PADI still holds a dominant position in diver training. Yet, such exclusivity could potentially invite legal scrutiny for restrictive market practices. But here’s the twist: As PADI seeks to reduce affiliated dive centers (starting with multi-branded ones), what fate awaits independent instructors who work across multiple brands?
