It’s been a while, so I jumped on a live stream from the shop to catch up, talk some van life, and basically remind everyone that Chrome has a zero filter. We kicked it off with some shop chaos (yes… the “Depends” situation) and then got into the usual mix of behind-the-scenes life: busted camera tripods (because I rage-smashed one), grainy internet moments, and the dogs being brats so they got booted outside to the van. We also got into the real van nerd stuff—battery questions (my SOK pack still throws a high-voltage alarm right at 100%), off-road habits (airing down in the bush), and why I lean Sprinter over Transit or ProMaster if you actually want backcountry capability. If you want to lift a Transit properly, you’re into it for serious money, and ProMaster just isn’t built for the kind of places I take my rig (plus no AWD). I also talked tech in my van—heated floors, touchscreens, intercom, even Alexa—and honestly, van tech is already getting wild. I wrapped it with updates on West Coast Van Fest (very few tickets left, $10 walk-in option), merch ideas I actually want to wear, and a quick reminder: if you bring a high top that wasn’t born a high top… bring it to the West Coast for a winter and you’ll find out real quick if it leaks.
