What’s going on cryptocurrency universe, it’s The Bitcoin Miner here. In this part of my 125 Orange Pi cluster build, I’m doing a full server rack tour and getting this beast into its final home in the corner of my mining dungeon. I scored this rack for $250 (seriously—check your local Facebook Marketplace or Craigslist), and it’s exactly what I needed: double front doors, lockable, mesh front for airflow, removable side panels, and rails/support pieces that are going to be clutch once I start routing the 250+ wires coming off this crazy supercomputer. After I get the rack opened up and start planning layout (pulling the patch panel and figuring out where everything should live), I add LED lighting inside the rack. I found an old LED kit in the garage, forgot I even had it, and it turned out to be a great idea because it was way too dark to work in there. I run two 14-foot strips, prep the surface with rubbing alcohol, stick them down, and back it up with clips and zip ties so it stays put. Now I can actually see what I’m doing, and next up is installing rails and mapping out where the Orange Pi 5 supercomputer stack goes—while keeping some bottom space for future expansion and dust control (because yes… I’ve got cats).
