What’s going on Cryptocurrency Universe, it’s The Bitcoin Miner here. In Part 2 of this build, I’m deep in the crypto dungeon trying to pull off what I believe is the biggest Orange Pi cluster supercomputer build out there—125 boards total (124 plus the “mother” that’ll get plugged in right in the middle). This thing is a full-on “all or nothing” project. I originally thought I’d start with like 40 and scale up, but once you get into the wiring, bundling, and layout, you realize real quick that slowly adding them is just not feasible unless you build separate boxes. I walk through where I’m at in the process: heat sinks going on (that’s stage one), building the drives and loading Linux (stage two), then inserting the drives, “riding” them, and numbering every single unit so they’re ready to mine the second they’re powered up. I’m squeezing in wire bundles and I’m honestly worried about that last row and tight corner clearance—especially with fan height and cooling, which is why I skipped a row that wasn’t going to get airflow. The goal is insane on paper: over 1,000 CPU cores, around 500GB of RAM, and roughly 1000W at full blast. If I can get them all in and cooled right, this cluster should be absolutely crazy—and I can’t wait to see it up and running.
