About This Video

What’s going on cryptocurrency universe — it’s The Bitcoin Miner here. In this Part 2 video I’m showing you a simple way to make a jig (more or less a “gig” like I said in the video) so you can mount Orange Pi or Raspberry Pi cluster boards cleanly inside a server case or onto a flat board. This is for anybody who wants to follow along with my crazy build in the crypto dungeon, because lining up a bunch of SBC mounting holes sounds easy until you’re staring at a blank case and a tape measure. The trick is to start with cheap standoff “towers” (I’m talking like $10–$12 on Amazon) because the screw pattern is already pre-marked. Then I pick the spacers I want to use and either glue them so they don’t move or measure everything carefully so the spacing stays consistent. I lay out reference lines — a back line and corner lines for each row — and then I slide the jig up and down until it hits the exact spot I need. Once everything is lined up, the next step is straightforward: drill the holes and drop the towers into the setup. It’s a simple process, but it saves you a ton of headache when you’re building multi-board clusters.
