In this video I’m talking about something I honestly was not expecting at all: Hotbit listed Chia (XCH) on their futures market, and it came in around $5,000 per coin at first. I was thinking Chia might be a $20 to $100 coin if we were lucky, so seeing futures pricing like that is wild. It dipped hard down near $1,600 and then bounced back around the $1,900 range while I was looking at it. The big takeaway is why so many of us miners are even paying attention to Chia right now: we’ve been building and plotting with hard drives with basically no real price discovery, so this futures listing is a huge signal for potential profitability. At the same time, I’m still skeptical—there’s a massive 21 million pre-mine, and you guys know I don’t love pre-mines and dev-fee type setups. They’re talking about regulated structures and stock-exchange style listing where they “can’t just dump it,” but to me it’s still a red flag. From a mining perspective, my mindset is simple: get your money, get out, maybe hold a little if you truly believe in the future.
