Is it finally time to finish the StewMac mahogany body? Today, I’m trying a "secret sauce" technique I learned from Sparky’s channel: wet sanding with DIY wipe-on poly instead of water. This method creates a slurry that fills the mahogany pores, resulting in a smooth-as-glass finish while maintaining that beautiful open-pore look. I’m using a 50/50 mix of mineral spirits and polyurethane with 1000 and 2000 grit sandpaper.
