Perfecting the Fesley Breeze Series Tele: Fret Leveling, Crowning, & Workbench Reflections. Can a $174 black Friday guitar play like a masterpiece? We’re back at the workbench for another episode of Ted Talks Guitars and Life! Today, we aren't just fixing—we are perfecting the neck of the Fesley Breeze Series Telecaster. While it was a steal at $174, we discovered five high frets standing between us and that perfect, low-action playability. In this video, I’m walking you through the full "spa treatment" to elevate this budget neck to pro standards: Prepping & Taping: Protecting the board and getting that neck dead-straight. The Ramp: Using the @SmokeEaterGuitars method to create a fall-away on frets 12-22. Leveling & Crowning: Using the Music Nomad L-Beam and S-File to get those frets copacetic. The Polish: Moving through the grits (320 to 2500) for a mirror finish with a little help from Lizard Spit. Conditioning: Hydrating the board with Dunlop 65 after all that work. Beyond the tools, we’re talking life. From the reality of shipping damage to why you should never feel the need to apologize for your budget gear—it's all about player preference, Jack! So, grab yourself a Diet Coke, a popcorn, or one of my wife's Christmas cookies, and meet me at the workbench. We got work to do, baby!
