I’m using a combination of wood putty, furniture markers, and dye to blend the repair and restore the headstock's natural profile. While the aesthetics are a work in progress, the playability is a top priority. I walk through a complete fret service to ensure the neck is smooth and ready for the future: Identifying high frets with a fret rocker to ensure a level playing surface. Leveling and crowning using the Music Nomad S-file for precision. Polishing frets through various grits for a smooth, professional feel. Cleaning and conditioning the fingerboard to bring back its luster. This project is a labor of love for my grandson, proving that even a heavily damaged instrument deserves a second chance.
