Hello hello hello — this stream is basically a proper tech chat / Q&A hangout, but with me actually getting stuff done on-camera. I’m mid-way through building out my sim rig (racing + flight), and I jumped into Fusion 360 to redesign and strengthen a couple of 3D-printed mounts for 40-series aluminium T-slot extrusion. The original part had a failure point where an edge would split, so I talked through how I’m thickening sections, adding fillets (because I’m a sucker for rounding edges), and thinking about load paths and layer lines so the print is less likely to snap. Alongside the CAD, we bounced around the usual TechteamGB chaos: painkiller chat, DIY jobs (including me burning myself doing plumbing), and a bunch of sim game talk — Assetto Corsa, Dirt Rally, and Ace Combat 7 (not realistic, but ridiculously fun). I also went on a bit of a smart home / DIY tangent: why SBCs like Raspberry Pi feel overpriced right now, why ESP32 boards are so compelling, and a project idea I’m genuinely sold on — a simple ESP32 “med tracker” button pad that logs when I take meds and can ping Home Assistant reminders. It’s a relaxed stream, but there are a lot of practical takeaways if you’re into 3D printing functional parts, sim rigs, or DIY smart home automation.
