This thing actually sells itself less on the weight, and more on the new microcontroller, so let’s look at this thing in its entirety to see if it’s worth your hard earned cash, and the prized spot on your gaming desk. Let’s dive in, starting with what AKKO are excited about - the MCU. About This Video

In this video I take a proper look at the AKKO Dash V9 Ultra, and while it’s marketed as an ultra-lightweight mouse, the real story is the new MCU. AKKO are using the Nordic nRF54L15 (22nm, 128MHz) instead of the older nRF52840, which is why you get 8K polling both wired and wireless, plus the promise of better power efficiency from the 300mAh battery. Coming from the PC world, seeing “22nm” on a microcontroller is kind of hilarious… but it’s also genuinely impressive. On the sensor side it’s the PixArt PAW3950, with AKKO “overclocking” it to 42,000 DPI. Do you need that? Absolutely not. But the core performance is the point: lift-off distance options, software toggles (angle snapping, ripple control), and click settings, paired with really lovely-feeling Omron optical switches (at least on the version I tested). At 43g and change it’s stupidly easy to flick around, and it glides great out of the box with extra PTFE dot options included. Using my own OSRTT latency tool, the Dash Ultra lands as one of the fastest mice I’ve tested—basically right up there with the best. And then there’s the price: around £53 at the time of filming (or £62 MSRP), which is frankly wild for this spec. Minor shell rigidity and side-button flex aside, it’s a ridiculous value if you want a top-tier FPS mouse without spending north of £100.
