Is the Xiaomi 14 the smartphone you've been waiting for, or just another fancy rectangle with a camera? In this review, we put it through its paces—testing the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor, Leica cameras, and its battery life to see if it can survive a day of doom-scrolling and bad selfies. Spoiler alert: It’s shiny, fast, and probably smarter than your ex. We’ll break down the good, the bad, and the ‘why does it even have this feature?’ moments, all while asking the important question: Is this the flagship phone for the people, or just a flex for tech nerds? About This Video

Ever since I’ve been fascinated with photography, videography, and video editing, I always felt like the “real” path was DSLR—bigger sensors, different lenses, better detail… you know the vibes. But tech is getting so good now that some smartphones are literally making parts of that world feel obsolete, and that’s why I wanted to get my hands on the Xiaomi 14. I didn’t even get it from Xiaomi—I had to borrow it from a friend and basically beg, because I’ve been wanting to review these for a while. In this full review, I break down what you’re actually getting: a compact 6.4-inch AMOLED that’s crazy bright with deep blacks, a 4600mAh battery with wireless/fast/reverse charging, and a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 that’s clapping everything I threw at it. But let’s be real—the meat of the matter is the cameras: 50MP main, 50MP ultrawide, 50MP periscope zoom, and a 32MP selfie cam. The controls and overall feel remind me of a DSLR, and the photos look good day or night. My main gripe is the front camera video being capped at 1080p, but battery life easily carried me a full day, and 90W charging gets you back up fast. If you want a small but powerful flagship without paying “ultra” money, I honestly struggle to find a real downside here.
