About This Video

In this video I’m testing another budget phone, and this one is the Redmi 13C. I didn’t even get it from Redmi—my friend came back from Thailand like, “Yo, you really need to review the phone,” so I put it on the list and compared it to the kind of budget competition people actually buy, like the Samsung A06. First impressions? For a cheap phone, the design looks really nice—people see the sparkle and they love it—but I’m not here for the “girly stuff.” I’m here to see how good it is where it matters. I break down the specs and real-world use: my unit is 4GB RAM with 128GB storage, a 50MP main camera, USB-C, and a headphone jack, plus a 5000mAh battery and a 720p display. Performance-wise, it runs everything—latest apps and games—just remember it’s a budget phone, so you’ll see stutters here and there when you push it hard. Cameras are solid in daylight, but when night comes down? Horrible. Battery life is a win though: I can get a full day and end around 45–30%, but two days is pushing it. Overall, for around $120–$130, it’s a dependable low-end pick and I’d put it a bit above the A06 mainly because you’re starting at 128GB instead of 64GB.
