About This Video

I’m back in the dark room again (yes… for a reason), because today I’m testing a budget projector that has the wildest name: the OWNKNEW native 1080p projector (GC357). This isn’t in that $1,000 laser projector category like the Weax ones I reviewed before—this one is for the broke-pocket home theater crowd like me. I unbox it, run through the basics, and then actually use it the way real people do: Netflix, Prime Video, USB playback, and a chaotic movie night setup. The big selling points here are native 1080p, electric focus, and the fact that Netflix and Prime Video are built in (and they actually work). I also tested brightness the only way I care about—dark room first, then lights on and window open—because lumens numbers don’t mean anything if you can’t see the image in a normal room. On top of that, the speakers surprised me in a good way, and Miracast was shockingly fast with basically no noticeable lag. At around $169 when I checked, it’s a solid option if you want a simple, budget-friendly big screen without a bunch of extra headaches.
