Hello hello — in this video I give you a full tour of my updated HomeLab and home servers, and I walk through the “must-have” services that actually make a lab useful for learning and for real-world IT work. I show you how my internet comes in from the street into the NTU, then into my router, and from there into my Ubiquiti core switch where everything fans out to the rest of the house. I’m big on doing this properly because a homelab lets you build stuff, break stuff, and test without the fear of nuking a real environment. From networking and Wi‑Fi (I’m running multiple Ubiquiti access points) to storage, I break down how I’m using my NAS setup and why drive choice matters for reliability and performance in a multi-bay environment. I also show you my rack server running Proxmox (free and open-source — Proxmox is where it’s at) with VMs for domain controllers, DNS/DHCP, Linux testing, Kali Linux, pfSense, and more. Then we jump into my mini rack: Zima boards/blade running CasaOS, a Raspberry Pi doing Pi-hole, and other mini PCs for things like Plex, home automation/IoT, and CCTV access. The big takeaway: start small, use what you’ve got, and build your lab based on what you’re trying to learn next.
