Cybersecurity isn’t new, but the game is changing fast—and in 2025 it’s going to keep getting harder. In this video I break down the biggest cyber threats I’m seeing right now that are continuing to ramp up: deep fake scams (voice, video, and images that look legit), AI-generated phishing that’s way more convincing than the “old school” typo-filled emails, and ransomware-as-a-service where you don’t even need to be a skilled hacker anymore—you can literally buy a kit and run it like a business model. I also talk about a threat that doesn’t get enough attention: inexperience. I’m seeing “noobs” moving from on-prem into Azure/AWS/Google Cloud and accidentally leaving things exposed—firewalls open, servers internet-facing, and cloud storage like S3 buckets/blob storage misconfigured. Then you’ve got state-sponsored attacks and supply chain risk—vendors, MSPs, and software providers becoming the entry point into multiple companies at once. To stay safe, I cover practical defense tactics: EDR tools (Defender, SentinelOne, CrowdStrike), MFA everywhere, zero trust mindset, audit trails/logging, relentless patching, and network segmentation. But the biggest takeaway is this: people are your first line of defense, so training and awareness programs are non-negotiable—because nine out of ten times, someone clicked the thing they shouldn’t have.
