About This Video

Hey friends — in this video I’m on my MacBook Pro desktop showing you Stage Manager on macOS 2025, and why I really, really like it as a productivity and focus tool. If your screen usually turns into a “big messy” pile of windows, Stage Manager cleans that up by tucking your open apps into a clear, widget-style stack on the left so you can actually see what’s open and jump right back in without hunting and pecking. I walk you step-by-step through where to find it (System Settings → Desktop & Dock) and the key options you’ll want to play with. I show how clicking your wallpaper can push your windows aside to reveal your desktop space while keeping everything you’re working on easily accessible. Then I demo the big workflow choice: opening windows “all at once” for an app (great when you’re working inside that app), or switching “one at a time” so you’re only bringing forward the exact window you need. I also call out the one potential negative — if you’re used to multiple windows living on screen at the same time in different spots, Stage Manager is more about swapping between setups. Overall, I like it because it feels more organized, more focused, and way less messy.
