In this video I’m setting up the GoveeLife smart thermometer/hygrometer kit (the 3-pack) that comes with a little Wi‑Fi gateway, and I’m doing it for a very real reason: our cabin property in Colorado gets severe winters, and I want to know what’s happening with temperature (and humidity) even when we’re not there. The goal is simple—get reliable, actionable readings so I can keep an eye on spaces like the main cabin area and the basement where my systems sit, and make sure nothing is freezing over. I walk you through what’s in the box (gateway, three wireless sensors, labels, lanyards, manual), how to install the app via the QR code, and how pairing works step-by-step. You’ll see me plug the gateway into an outlet, add it in the app, enable location services, enter Wi‑Fi, and then pair a sensor by pulling the battery tab and pressing the little button inside the back cover. Once it’s set, the dashboard is the big win: quick room-to-room comparisons, live temperature and humidity, and chart views by hour/day/week. As long as my cabin Wi‑Fi is up through Starlink, I can monitor everything remotely—big thumbs up from me.
