About This Video

In this video I’m talking you through what it’s really like working for Whales English after being with them for over 18 months. I share the five big reasons I still genuinely love the company, even though I’m always honest about the bits that can be frustrating. If you’re trying to choose an online ESL company (or you’re wondering whether Whales is still a solid option), this is the kind of “from the classroom” perspective I wish I’d had at the start. I cover stability first—because for me, consistency matters when you’re building a remote income—and then I get into the students (one of the main reasons I’ve stayed). I also talk about scheduling, including what feels manageable and what doesn’t, plus the secondary positions that can add variety and growth beyond just teaching classes. Finally, I chat about the community side of Whales and why that support can make a big difference when you’re teaching from home. I wrap up with the things I don’t like, because no company is perfect, and you deserve the full picture before you apply.
