In this video I’m making one of those tiny details that instantly makes a dollhouse kitchen feel “lived in”: miniature plates made from clay. I walk you through my whole process step by step—how I shape the clay, how I keep the sizes consistent, and the little everyday items I use as tools when I’m moulding and refining the edges. If you’ve ever made a mini plate that turned into a wonky blob, this is the fix: slow shaping, clean edges, and letting the material do the work. Once the plates are formed, I move into painting and decorating, including where I like to pull inspiration from for patterns and finishes. I also show how I use gel nail polish with a UV light to get that glossy, glazed look that reads like real ceramic at dollhouse scale. And as a bonus, I build a simple wooden plate rack (dish rack) so your new tableware has a proper home—perfect for open shelving, countertops, or a little dish-drying moment.
