In this video I show you how I grow radishes indoors from start to harvest, and I keep it simple. I’m growing a whole indoor salad garden under basic white LED shop lights—spinach, lettuce, tomatoes, even peas—and radishes fit right in without taking up much space. I’ll show you a harvest so you can see what “done” looks like, and I’ll give you the realistic timeline: I started mine around December 10th and by late January I’m pulling nice radishes. Figure about 40–50 days for your first harvests, and closer to 50–60 days for a bigger pull. The setup is easy: a shoebox-size container about 4 inches (10 cm) deep, three drainage holes, and bottom watering in a tray. I use seed starting mix (potting mix works too), plant about 1/4 inch deep, and I drop in two seeds per spot so I’m not waiting around on germination—then I thin to the strongest plant. Lights run 16 hours on and 8 off, and the key indoors is slow, low water-soluble fertilizer because there are no nutrients in the mix. Start feeding about 7–10 days after germination (about a teaspoon per gallon), then adjust as plants get bigger—never overdo it.
