6th grader Advitha Kakumani challenges the fear of failure by peeling back its "bitter skin" to reveal hidden treasures of learning and resilience. Sharing personal experiences from grade school to dance, she illustrates how setbacks are actually "finger posts" on the road to achievement. Learn why the real reward of failure is the growth and courage you gain along the way. Advitha Kakumani is a sixth-grade student at Carnage Magnet Middle School who loves learning. At this year’s TEDx event, she will be speaking about the layers of failure, and how mistakes aren’t something to fear, but powerful opportunities that help us grow into better versions of ourselves through perseverance. She enjoys drawing, practicing Kuchipudi classical dance, and exploring computer science by building apps that help her community. Advitha is also an emerging leader and hopes her talk inspires others to see failure as an opportunity to learn and succeed. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at https://www.ted.com/tedx
