He is a senior researcher at Sony Computer Science Laboratories and a visiting professor at the University of Tokyo. Together with Takashi Ikegami, he co-leads the Collective Intelligence Research Laboratory (CIRL), exploring collective intelligence and AI alignment. Mogi has devoted his career to understanding consciousness, free will, and qualia, the subjective qualities of experience. He also serves as headmaster of Yakushima Ohzora High School, a distance-learning institution with more than 13,000 students. His international bestseller IKIGAI has been published in 32 languages across 58 countries. He holds bachelor’s degrees in Physics and Law, as well as a Ph.D. in Physics, from the University of Tokyo.
