Buy Pro Rope Here: https://alnk.to/3nhSqqm Tree Stuff has made me an Affiliate, so I get a small commission from them when you use this link to access their website before making a purchase. THANK YOU! there are 4 basic types of ropes we use in tree work rigging. Hollow braids, used for slings and dynamic cabling, Solid Braids: which are generally 3, 12 or 16 Stranded ropes without a load bearing core. 3 Strand ropes are a rugged durable but stretchy and twisty rope. it works well for certain natural crotch applications, is the oldest construction method, and can often be found for the lowest price per foot. 12 Strand and 16 strand are ropes that take many small twines twisted into either 12 or 16 primary load bearing strands, sometimes these contain a core which helps maintain the roundness of the rope or has an indicator color which helps identify damage more easily upon inspection. Still, the load bearing strands are all external which makes the inspection process easier. If you can feel or see damage to the outside then the rope is compromised if you cannot then it is generally safe (unless it has difficult to spot sun or chemical exposure). This type is usually not as stretchy as three strand but more stretchy than double braids, and tends to have much less twist to it when loaded, and is slightly more expensive than 3 strand, it runs fairly well through hardware, and still performs well with natural crotch rigging. Lastly there are double braid ropes which share the load between the core and the cover. These tend to be the smoothest through hardware, have the highest strength to weight/diameter and the most predicable stretch/twist properties. The following list is my favorite daily-use equipment for climbing and rigging. All these are excellent pieces of gear you won’t regret owning.
