In this video I show you how to quickly add StreamElements alerts for your YouTube livestream—new subscribers, members, and Super Chats—and it works the same whether you’re using OBS or Streamlabs. I start on streamelements.com, log in, and connect YouTube so you can skip all the setup dialogue. Then I go to Streaming Tools → Elements, hit New Element, and build the alerts from scratch (you can use the gallery, but I prefer doing it ourselves so you understand what’s happening). From there, I rename the element, expand the default states, and add the extra alert types you actually need—Member and Super Chat—using “Add State.” The key takeaway is simple: click into each alert state and edit it on the right. Swap or delete the main asset if you don’t want an image, adjust your text/components, and if you’re doing Super Chats, make sure you add the message using the variables (amount, name, message), because it doesn’t always appear by default. Finally, I save, publish, copy the URL, and paste it into a Browser Source in OBS/Streamlabs, match the width/height, and test everything using Simulate so you can see the alert fire live on your scene.
