In this rapid beginner tutorial, I walk you through setting up a YouTube livestream (or a YouTube Shorts-style vertical livestream) using Meld Studio on PC or Mac. We start from the Meld website, install it with the default options, and give it access to your camera and microphone. Then I show you the best-practice choice for creators: the multi-canvas setup, so you can build both landscape and vertical layouts inside the same project. From there, I set up clean audio in the mixer by adding a named mic track (I use my QuadCast as an example) and a headset output, then I turn on Magic Mic and crank it to “very high” for noise suppression (and I disable gain control). Next, we build two simple scenes: “Just Chatting” (full camera) and “Computer Display” (display capture + camera). I copy/paste layers between canvases to save time, then position everything so landscape looks great and vertical fits the Shorts feed vibe.
