In this video I show you how to quickly add StreamElements Twitch alerts into OBS—covering both setups: regular OBS (no plugins) and the SE.Live plugin. We start on StreamElements.com by logging in, connecting Twitch, then going to Streaming Tools > Elements. I create a brand-new alert widget from scratch, and I also show the fast way to use the default alert layout: jump into each alert type (follow, sub, bits, etc.) and delete the “main asset” so you’re left with clean text-only alerts if that’s what you want. Once your alerts look right, I hit Save, then Publish. If you’re on regular OBS, you copy the overlay URL and add it as a Browser Source (I name it something like “StreamElements Alerts”), paste the URL, and set the correct dimensions—StreamElements recommends width 600 and height 700. I also show the little quality-of-life stuff: enable “shutdown source when not visible,” center it with Transform > Center to Screen, and lock it in place. If you’re using SE.Live, it’s even easier: Add Element and just press the plus icon to drop the alert widget straight into OBS at the correct size. Then I test it using the StreamElements Event Simulator (and yes, I mention the top button looked bugged for me—so I use the simulator panel instead).
