In Part 6 of my Meteor tutorial series, I focus on something every real app needs: proper post management. I implement post deletion, and then I add the like/unlike feature so your UI can react instantly when users interact with posts. The big learning point here is how Meteor’s subscription model fits into a modern React workflow, and how you can wire it up so the client stays in sync without you manually refreshing anything. For the likes feature, I use Meteor’s subscription-based trackers and React’s useTracker to fetch reactive data in real time. I show you how to subscribe to the right data, read it on the client, and let the UI update automatically when the underlying collection changes. I also talk about the pros and cons of trackers—because yes, they’re powerful, but they’re not something you should blindly use everywhere. The takeaway is knowing when trackers make your life easier (live reactive UI) and when they can become unnecessary overhead (too much reactivity, too many subscriptions, or unclear data flow).
