About This Video

In this video I break down what’s actually new in the Ray-Ban Meta 20.0 update for both Gen 1 and Gen 2. Meta’s official notes basically say “bug fixes and improvements,” but we all know they love to hide the real changes (or quietly ship different features depending on which model you own). The biggest thing I personally verified is that slow motion (720p 120fps) and hyperlapse now work properly on both Gen 1 and Gen 2. Before, I could trigger those modes, but the glasses would just record a normal video. I also talk about what didn’t change—like the 5-minute recording limit still not coming to Gen 1. On Gen 2 (and Oakley Vanguard), that 5-minute mode only applies at 1080p 30fps, which is a little annoying, but it makes sense from a battery/processing standpoint. I also call out the “conversation focus” feature Meta teased months ago with a full trailer… and it’s still missing on both generations. Finally, there’s a small but nice Meta AI app UI update in App Connections that makes connected vs. non-connected apps easier to manage across different glasses. My advice: keep updates on manual, because I’ve seen updates break stuff before.
