These two destinations are among Japan's most beautiful places. Join me on two of my favorite day trips from Kyoto: Nara Park & Arashiyama. Arashiyama is located on the western outskirts of Kyoto. You might have heard of the bamboo forests here but there are so much more than that. Instead of heading straight to the touristy bamboo groves, we'll head north and take the less-beaten path. Nara Park is famous for its historic temples and free-roaming deer. It spans approximately 1600 acres. I'll show you the best place to see the Nara deer.
