Wait… I'm Going to Fiji?! A Dreamy Escape to Waya Island

Bula! 🌺 Welcome to Waya Island, located at the southern end of the Yasawa Islands archipelago in Fiji. If you're dreaming of a tropical paradise, away from the noise and cold weather—Fiji should be at the top of your list! 😊 Traveling to Fiji was definitely not on my radar this year. It's surreal to think that none of these incredible memories would exist if I hadn’t pushed myself to attend that Travel Expo—where I first learned about Fijian culture and, to my shock, won the biggest prize of my life! (Thank you @flyfijiairways ) I never win anything, so this was a total surprise! 😆 Did you know there are non-stop flights to Fiji from LAX and SFO multiple times a week?! You literally hop on a plane and wake up in paradise. Planning the trip was one thing, but actually being here is a completely different experience. This country has over 330 islands, and only about a third of them are inhabited. Getting around is an adventure itself—most travel between islands is done by boat. It’s the kind of journey where even the travel feels like part of the experience. For a Type A traveler like me—who usually fills every day with activities—Fiji was a refreshing change. I had to slow down, take a breath, and just enjoy the laid-back vibe of Fiji Time.
