If you’re like me, you probably opened ActiveCampaign and immediately thought, “Yeah… too complicated.” In this beginner tutorial, I show you it’s actually not that bad—and in about 10 minutes you can get a simple system running that does three things automatically: collects leads with a form, sends a welcome email instantly, and follows up so you’re moving people toward a booking without chasing them. No fluff, no theory—just the exact clicks to get set up. I walk you through the core setup: where to find your master contact list, why I recommend sticking to one list, and how to organize everything with tags instead (like “lead”). I also show you how to import contacts, add your business address for compliance, and verify/authenticate your domain using a business email so you don’t land in spam. Then we build an inline signup form (and I recommend asking for email only), add it to a landing page template, publish it, and test it. After that, I build a starter automation from scratch: trigger on “subscribes to list,” tag the contact, send a welcome email, wait one day, send a follow-up, and use an if/else based on opens or link clicks.
