About This Video

In this video I put the Jackery 5000 Plus Solar Generator through a real shop-style load test, not just a “phone charger and a fan” demo. I’m running a welder at about 120 amps on 1/4" plate, with an air conditioner running, a coffee pot percolating, Milwaukee battery chargers charging, my laptop and studio lights on—without any input power at all. I screen-record the Jackery app while welding so you can see the draw jump up into the 3,700–3,800W range, and the unit doesn’t even hiccup. Then I break down why this setup actually makes sense for us: we’re expanding into a 40' and 20' container office/work area, and we’ve already maxed out our shop subpanel. Instead of paying for a long utility run and more panels, the plan is to run the office, lights, coffee, chargers, and occasional welding off battery, and recharge when we want—either from shore power or solar. I also show the SolarSaga 500W panels (two sets) feeding the Jackery, plus how the UPS modes work (20ms backup vs “online UPS” for near-zero transfer) and why sensitive loads like an AC compressor can react differently depending on the mode.
