What an incredible spring day at Sheraton Park Farms! A few weeks ago, we tore through this garden to clear out the winter mess, and we’ve had the chickens in here ever since doing what they do best: scratching, fertilizing, and prepping the soil. Today, it's time to move the flock out so we can finally start our spring planting! We are bringing in fresh topsoil to build up the garden beds and getting our hands dirty planting around 300 onion sets. But the garden wasn't the most exciting part of the day. We woke up this morning to a massive (and adorable) surprise out in the pasture! We are taking you out to the herd to introduce you to the newest addition to the farm—a brand new baby calf. Mama and baby are doing great, and we couldn't be happier. In this video, you will see: Garden Prep: Moving the chickens out and prepping beds with topsoil. Spring Planting: How we plant 300 onion sets for a massive summer harvest. Farm Surprise: Waking up to a brand-new baby calf in the pasture! Livestock Update: Checking in on the herd to make sure the new mama is healthy. Spring has officially sprung! We are moving the chickens, planting 300 onions in the garden, and welcoming a beautiful surprise to the pasture. When we went out to do morning chores, we discovered a brand new baby calf that had been born overnight. We introduce the new calf, check on the mama, and talk a little about what we look for to make sure both are doing well. After the excitement settles down, we get to work taking advantage of some beautiful spring weather. The chickens that have been working in the garden for the past few weeks get moved to a new spot so we can begin planting. With the beds cleaned up and soil ready, we add fresh topsoil to the garden beds and plant around 300 onion sets to kick off the spring growing season. It’s one of those days that reminds us why we love farm life—unexpected surprises, new beginnings, and the start of another growing season. In this video you’ll see: • A surprise baby calf on the farm • Checking on the new calf and mama • Moving chickens out of the garden • Preparing garden beds for spring planting • Adding topsoil to improve soil health • Planting 300 onion sets • Early spring farm chores If you enjoy homesteading, small farm life, raising cattle, growing your own food, and seeing what daily life on a working farm looks like, you’re in the right place. #FarmLife #HomesteadLife #BabyCalf #SpringPlanting #GardenPrep #OnionSets #RaisingCattle #PastureRaised #SmallFarm #SheratonParkFarms #SpringPlanting #BabyCalf #Homesteading #GardenPrep #PasturedPoultry #OnionSets #FarmLife #RegenerativeAg Stumphouse Farms Hatchery: https://www.stumphousefarms.com/?ref=9E5394 Happy Farmer: https://www.happyfarmer.store/ Use Code "sheratonparkfarms" Become a Patron: www.patreon.com/SheratonPark Consulting Services: https://www.sheratonparkfarms.com/far... ‪Amazon Affiliate Link: https://amzn.to/3yRoENF Connect with us on social media: www.sheratonparkfarms.com www.facebook.com/sheratonparkfarms www.instagram.com/sheratonparkfarms Some links may be affiliate meaning we earn a commission from a purchase using the link
