Hi you sexy biscuits—Half Sword is FINALLY in Early Access (0.6), so I jumped back in after sinking way too much time into the tech demo to see what’s actually changed. I make a fresh character (yes, I named him Henry, obviously), grab a sickle like an absolute menace, and start working through duels, slums brawls, and champion fights. The big headline: the combat still feels amazing. It’s brutal, physics-y, and properly satisfying once you get used to the mouse-driven aiming and stamina—plus you can grab, drop, and scramble for weapons mid-fight like a total gremlin. I also talk performance, because the reviews aren’t wrong: some areas can be rough, especially the slums, though it ran fine for me in this session. The physics haven’t been “dumbed down” like some people were saying—if anything it feels a tiny bit lighter than the tech demo, but still very much intact (and I’m picky about this stuff—GTA 4 physics brain, remember). I poke around the merchant/trading, then dive into the Abyss with fog turned on for maximum spooky vibes… and yes, I get absolutely ruined. Overall: I genuinely recommend it, with the caveat that it’s taxing, so your PC matters.
