About This Video

In today’s vlog, Seong and I head to our very first doctor’s appointment together to talk about something really personal: our baby plan, and how my endometriosis (I had stage three at surgery three years ago) could affect pregnancy. Because endo can come with a higher risk of infertility and miscarriage, I wanted to be proactive and see a doctor who specializes in pre-pregnancy care (and can also support during and after pregnancy). I also shared that I’ve been feeling like my symptoms are getting a bit worse again, and I have a strong feeling I might have PMDD, which is much more severe than PMS. After the appointment, we break down what we learned and what the next steps look like. The doctor was really nice and explained things clearly—she believes I do have PMDD, and we talked through how endometriosis and pregnancy are kind of intertwined. She suggested taking Nurofen three times a day for the first three days when my period or pain starts to help reduce inflammation, and we’re also setting up a pelvic floor specialist plan because inflammation can tighten muscles. I’m also doing blood tests (including genetic carrier screening) and I’m due for a pap smear. Then we finish the day at one of our absolute favourites in Perth—Two Hand Noodle—because yes, we still need cozy comfort food while we look after our bodies.
